Trip to Vegas

Not for real...just to our house. This idea came from my favorite blog loveactually-blog.blogspot.com.

We did this clear back in February, and yes I am a dork, and have too much time on my hands!

We started off the vacation with a trip to the "Las Vegas Theatre"

We then went for a dip in the hotel pool. Hopefully Alan don't kill me for this one...I colored a shirt on for him though.

Then we enjoyed some nice fondue.

Later that evening, we played a few rounds of blackjack with homemade poker chips.

A hotel wouldn't be complete without an ice machine and an elephant towel. Right?

Valentines

Ha Ha..It's April and I am going to post about Valentines...awesome.

Just wanted to post a few pictures of our cookie decorating party that my cousins so nicely invite us to. This year they had a contest, I think the judge was kind of bias though.

Ramblings

I received my vinyl trees for our bedroom in the mail yesterday. I was pretty much stoked! Here they are in our bedroom.

I love it! Some may not, but I like it. I think Alan was thinking what are you doing to our bedroom?!?

I made a little Valentines countdown for us. One of the things was to write a small note and mail it to each other. Well I received mine in the mail from Alan the other day. It was such a cute letter, and a long with it were some Jason Aldean concert tickets! YAY!

I love February!

Date of the Month Club

I found this blog http://loveactually-blog.blogspot.com, and loved the idea of the Date of the Month club.

This months date was Pizzeria Night.

I attempted making cinnamon sticks with icing to dip in. It was actually pretty tasty.

I had a picture of Alan in his apron, but it somehow got erased! bummer deal!

Next months date: Tailgate party

Happy 2010!

So it's been awhile.....life has been great! Thanksgiving and Christmas were wonderful as always. We celebrated our 4th anniversary this last weekend. Which consisted of going to the U of U womens basketball game. We ate dinner at McGrath's Fishhouse, mainly because I love their clam chowder. I am satisfied with the $4 meal. We wanted to go a Jazz game but weren't willing to pay the $50.00 for nosebleeds. We were walking around the Energy Solutions Arena hoping for a good deal from some scalpers. Not much luck! We instead run into one of Alan's buddies who works at the ESA. He ended up getting us some tickets for free! WAHOO! Not sure if they were free to him, but so nice of him to give them to us! We stayed at the Hyatt right at the Gateway, it was wonderful!

Trip to L.A.

We ended up going to L.A. this past weekend. My sister and kids were going to come, but they ended up getting sick. Bummer deal.... We left Friday and made our way to Vegas.

We chilled in Vegas for a while on Saturday then made the trip to L.A. We bought a $5.00 map and made our way to a Santa Monica beach. It was fun, seeing some crazies, and enjoying the beach.

The next morning we woke up and made our way to Universal Studios. It was way fun. They have a few rides, that I went on. Surprise...Surprise. I didn't know what I was getting into, because the rides were in buildings or else I probably wouldn't have. Alan almost bought one of the pictures they take on the rides, because of my face. Pure terror....

The park closed at 6:00 to they could set up for Halloween nights. They changed the rides into things such as a "Saw" maze and had people with chainsaws all throughout the park. It was pretty freaky.
The next day we kind of just hung out, went to IKEA, Hollywood Boulevard to look at the Stars. Then made our way to Venice Beach, again more crazies to look at. We enjoyed a nice dinner at the beach, watching the sunset, while watching the Chargers football game, and the Dodgers baseball game.
We had a wonderful time! Thanks to my cousin for letting us stay with him and his family! We appreciate it!

Back to August - Road Trip

The first week in August we took our annual vacation trip. This year we hit up Idaho, Montana & Wyoming.

We started out Friday July 31st. We drove to Stanley Idaho and stayed the night in a tent. We were hoping to get a tepee, but they were all out!

The next morning we woke up and started our travels to Montana. We stopped at some natural hot springs, but unfortunately they weren't that hot.

We arrived at my Aunts that afternoon for a big reunion! We stayed there until Monday morning. It was an enjoyable time. River rafting, relaxing and listening to music around the campfire. Yeah Alan & I are not in the family picture, they happened to take it when were out looking at my grandparents old property.

Monday morning we took off for Glacier National Park. That night we just set up camp and went and looked around the lake.

We were going to go on a boat tour but of course they were sold out.

The next morning we took a beautiful hike up to Avalanche Lake. There were waterfalls coming down everywhere.
After that hike, we had a nice picnic. Then we went on a hike to St. Mary's Falls and Virginia Falls. Both were so beautiful! And luckily we didn't get ate by any bears!

We got up nice and early on Wednesday to head out to Yellowstone. We didn't do too much in Yellowstone. Well of course we saw Old Faithful! After being in Glacier, Yellowstone was kind of disappointing, especially since I have been there a lot before. There was some exciting parts though. We were able to see a black bear just off the road. Then not too much further we saw a Grizzly bear off the road. That is the first time I had ever seen bears in the wild, so that was pretty sweet!

Thursday we headed to go to Jackson Hole. I love that place. It was also so nice to stay in a hotel, after being in a tent for 5 nights. Our friends had told us about the Bar J. Wranglers chuckwagon. So we went out there and had a hootin' good time. They serve a great dinner on tin plates, and then entertainment afterwords.

Friday afternoon we headed for Lava Hot springs. We chilled all day in the pool. Alan enjoyed the slides and the platforms. Then that night we hit up the hot springs.

We came home Saturday! It was such an enjoyable vacation! Can't wait for another one!

And sorry folks that was just a lot of pictures of us!
