We started out Friday July 31st. We drove to Stanley Idaho and stayed the night in a tent. We were hoping to get a tepee, but they were all out!
The next morning we woke up and started our travels to Montana. We stopped at some natural hot springs, but unfortunately they weren't that hot.
We arrived at my Aunts that afternoon for a big reunion! We stayed there until Monday morning. It was an enjoyable time. River rafting, relaxing and listening to music around the campfire. Yeah Alan & I are not in the family picture, they happened to take it when were out looking at my grandparents old property.
Monday morning we took off for Glacier National Park. That night we just set up camp and went and looked around the lake.
We were going to go on a boat tour but of course they were sold out.
The next morning we took a beautiful hike up to Avalanche Lake. There were waterfalls coming down everywhere.
After that hike, we had a nice picnic. Then we went on a hike to St. Mary's Falls and Virginia Falls. Both were so beautiful! And luckily we didn't get ate by any bears!
We got up nice and early on Wednesday to head out to Yellowstone. We didn't do too much in Yellowstone. Well of course we saw Old Faithful! After being in Glacier, Yellowstone was kind of disappointing, especially since I have been there a lot before. There was some exciting parts though. We were able to see a black bear just off the road. Then not too much further we saw a Grizzly bear off the road. That is the first time I had ever seen bears in the wild, so that was pretty sweet!
Thursday we headed to go to Jackson Hole. I love that place. It was also so nice to stay in a hotel, after being in a tent for 5 nights. Our friends had told us about the Bar J. Wranglers chuckwagon. So we went out there and had a hootin' good time. They serve a great dinner on tin plates, and then entertainment afterwords.
Friday afternoon we headed for Lava Hot springs. We chilled all day in the pool. Alan enjoyed the slides and the platforms. Then that night we hit up the hot springs.
We came home Saturday! It was such an enjoyable vacation! Can't wait for another one!
