5th Anniversary

We celebrated our 5th Wedding Anniversary this past weekend, since we both had a few days off. We had made reservations for the Anniversary Inn in Logan, but since the weather was bad I didn't want to drive up there. We seen a car crash right in front of us, and it stressed me out. So I asked Alan to call and see if we could change our reservations to a SLC Anniversary Inn. They were able to do it no problem. They only had one room left for the night, so we really didn't have a choice. We stayed in the Swiss Family Robinson Suite.

It was a fun room. There was a spiral staircase that went up to the bed that was in the tree.

The jacuzzi tub was sweet with a waterfall shower.

The next afternoon we went to Color Me Mine. We painted a ceramic plate. It was quite fun although neither of us are artistic as you can tell!

We then went ice skating at the Maverik center. I have never been ice skating, and stayed by the wall the whole time! Alan said it was only his second time, but he skated like a pro!

It was a fun getaway to celebrate our anniversary!

Alan's Birthday

It was Alan's Birthday on the 26th. He unfortunately had to work but I filled the car with balloons and wrote all over it while it was parked at his work. I attempted to make a cake. Which could be featured on Cake Wrecks! The cake didn't come out of the pan, so I had pieces everywhere!
I should have just gave him a donut!

Last night I booked a room at the local hotel. So he could watch Monday Night football and we could enjoy relaxing in the hot tub. It was a nice night interrupted this morning by him getting called to go in to work for overtime. Bummer deal!

Colors

On September 11th we were able to go see Colors at the Sandy Amphitheater. It was amazing! I love colors!

Yesterday Alan surprised me with an ice cream cake and some flowers for my birthday!

We didn't have enough candles for the big 2-6! Thank goodness though! So Alan put two candles on one row, and then six on another. I can live with that!

Lake Tahoe

I promise we lead a normal everyday life! I just seem to post only about our vacations! Alan had a four day weekend so we decided to head to Lake Tahoe. We left Thursday night and stayed in Ely, NV. We left the next morning for Lake Tahoe. We stopped at Virginia City, it's a neat old mining town with a bunch of cute shops!

We got to Lake Tahoe Friday evening and just went and looked at the Lake, went to dinner went back to our hotel and chilled in the hot tub. The next morning we rented bikes and took a ride down a nice paved path. We stopped at this cool stream profile. They had built a little building underground so you could see the fish in the stream. It was pretty neat.

We rode our bikes to this lovely beach and had our lunch.

After our bike ride we went for a little ride to Emerald Bay. On the way we saw a Momma Bear and her cub right by the road, right where we were previously riding our bikes! So glad we didn't run into them when we were on the bikes!

Emerald Bay

We took a Gondola Ride up the mountain. Basically an inclosed ski lift. The views were beautiful from the top. I was scared out of my mind though since I hate heights!

Sunday we went to church then just relaxed in the lake and on the beach!

On our ride home we passed this tree that has shoes hanging from it everywhere! Man it stunk though!

Unfortunately we almost had a blow out with our tire. But luckily Alan noticed it before anything happened. We drove on it for awhile just going really slow then stopped at a tire shop in the middle of nowhere. Of course they didn't have the tire we needed. So we put on the donut and drove another 80 miles to Ely. Where luckily a shop had the tire we needed.

Right at the Utah border. We stopped and picked up a hitchhiker. We do this every once in awhile if they don't look to awful! He had a sign to go to Delta, but when he found out we were going by I-15 he had us drop him off at the Flying J in Nephi. Hitchhikers are so fascinating to me, and luckily this one didn't stink, and slept most of the way. Just kind of awkward is all!

Monday Drive

We decided to take the long way to Provo yesterday up through Nebo Loop. It was pretty scenic.
Our first stop was Devil's Kitchen. It was just a short little walk to get to these red rock formations.

Next we stopped at grotto falls. It was another short little hike to these beautiful hidden falls.

Too bad the water was F-R-E-E-Z-I-N-G!

Cruise May 2010

At the end of May Alan & I were able to go on a cruise. We had loads of fun, although the food wasn't all that great.

Our first stop was Catalina Island. Alan was able to go para-sailing there, I am too chicken! Unfortunately our camera erased those pictures. The rest of the day we just hung out by the beach, and ate some yummy clam chowder.

Our next stop was Ensenada, Mexico. We went to a resort and relaxed by the pool and beach. They also served us a nice Mexican meal.

After returning we chilled in California for a little bit, went and saw the Newport Beach Temple, and went to a few beaches.

Our Radio Winnings

The other night we were coming home from the temple and listening to our local radio station the KAGE 89.5 ran by college students. They were having a contest with the question being name two pairs of sports teams that have the same name (mascot). Example the Arizona Cardinals and the St. Louis Cardinals. Anybody know another one?

I made Alan call...and low and behold we won! I think they had been doing the contest for at least an hour. Alan told him that we were on our way from Manti to pick up our prize. They thought we were dedicated listeners since we were driving clear from Manti to get our winnings, when in actuality we were just driving home.

So our winnings....drum roll....

A Snow College mug and a Snow College bag (not sure what they are called)...

Basketball

We love our Snow Basketball. This year since the SWAC tournament was in Price we decided to head down for the weekend in March.

We had a hard time finding things to do in Price on Saturday waiting for the game at 5:00 pm. We decided to go to the movies. Wow was that theater old...

This is my are you serious look..
