DAY 1
Ephraim -->Boise
And we were off! On our journey up to Boise, we made some unplanned stops. We stopped at Shoshone Falls which are extremely beautiful! Then I wanted to drive by the Twin Falls Temple to see it, and take a picture of it. As we were driving up to it, we noticed protesters, and thought that was strange in the middle of Idaho, we also noticed just crowds and crowds of people. We had NO idea what was going on! So we got out and found out that it was the open house. We were dressed in flip flops and really didn't feel comfortable going in the temple like that, but they reassured us that it was alright! It was absolutely beautiful and really reflected the Idaho area!

DAY 2
Boise --> Astoria, Oregon
This was quite the long drive, but beautiful Scenery! We stayed at a over the top KOA that night, indoor pool, free ice cream, free pancakes, movie night. There was so much to do just in the campground! We did however go down to the beach that night, and see this shipwreck.

DAY 3
Astoria --> Depoe Bay
We started this day off by going to Astoria to go see the house where the Goonies was filmed. Where Alan proceeded to do the famous "Truffle Shuffle" too bad we don't have the picture!! We just traveled about 100 miles down the coast this day, and stopped at a few scenic places such as Haystack Rock, also seen in the Goonies. We stayed that night in a luxious bed & breakfast!
Day 4Depoe Bay --> Sunset Bay
We woke up that morning and watched the whales that inhabit Depoe Bay all year round. It was amazing!! I could have seriously watched them all day long! We then traveled to Newport where we spent most of our day. Going to the top of a lighthouse, eating the famous Mo's Chowder, and going to the Newport Aquarium.
We then stayed at a beautiful campground at Sunset Bay, and were able to drive up the road and see tons and tons of noisy, stinky Sea Lions!
Day 5
Sunset Bay --> Harris Beach
We had a lot of time this day to explore so we stopped at all the scenic places. Everything was so green and beautiful!! We went over the tallest bridge in Oregon, you don't notice how high it really is, unless you hike down and take a look at it!

Day 6
Harris Beach --> Eureka, California
This day was mostly spent in the Redwood Forrests. And of course we had to drive through a tree. Most all of the pictures of us together, I set a timer on the camera. So has you can imagaine me setting the timer, then running to be in the picture. The one through the tree, Alan made me take like 4 of them, I think he just liked making fun of me, running to the car! We took a coastline dirt road, and had a beautiful picnic there. We also went on a 2 1/2 mile hike through the Redwoods to Trillium Falls, I was so scared we were going to run into a Bear though!

Day 7Eureka --> San Francisco
We decided to get off the 101 and go the the 1 highway so we could see more of the coast! Wow it was such a windy curvy road! It took us forever, but the views were spectacular!!

Day 8
San Francisco --> Reno, Nevada
That morning we went to Alcatraz and took an audio tour. It was the coolest thing ever. The voices were that of ex-inmates and correctional officers. After touring Alcatraz we then made an unplanned stop to Six Flags in Vallejo, we had found some discount tickets, so thought why not? Alan enjoyed the rides (I am a wuss), and we both enjoyed the Dolphin and Killer Whale shows.

We got to Reno late that night, and hadn't made reservations. And of course, there was a car show going on, so most of the rooms were taking, or extremely high prices! But we finally found one, thank goodness! I was so tired, I probably could have just slept in the car!
Day 9
Reno --> Home Again!
We travelled home on the Loneliest Road ever! It is actually called it, and boy is it quite the lonely road! It was an AWESOME vacation, but we are happy to back to our own bed!
